Steven Taylor, MPA | General Manager
Steve’s career in the electrical industry began with the United States Navy in the late 1980’s, followed by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering Technology from Central Washington University. Steve began his first position with Lower Valley Power and Light in Jackson, Wyoming in 1993 as the Customer Service Engineer and then moved onto Franklin County PUD in Pasco, Washington as the Staking Engineer. His final engineering position came at Powder River Energy in Sundance, Wyoming as an Engineering Manager for seven years before joining Mason PUD No. 1 in 2007.
As GM, Steve is very active in industry associations and board appointments/subcommittees such as Washington PUD Association, Northwest Public Power Association, the American Public Power Association and the Public Power Council, Mason County’s Economic Development Council, Shelton‐Mason County Chamber of Commerce and the Hood Canal Kiwanis Club.
In addition to his duties as GM, Steve has also served as the bishop of his church, a scout leader and he is a husband and father of five. He enjoys outdoor activities, mentoring youth, helping members of his community and spending time with his wife Julie and his family.
Kristin Masteller, MPA | Director of Business Services
Kristin joined PUD 1 in 2011 and oversees the District’s administrative operations including human resources, customer service, accounting, communications and public records. Prior to working for PUD 1, Kristin was the marketing & public relations manager for a public hospital district and the executive director of the hospital’s charitable foundation.
Kristin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Martin’s University and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from The Evergreen State College.
Darin Hall | Director of Operations- Electric
Darin started his utility career in 1996 as a temporary employee at Mason PUD 1 and then transitioned into an apprentice lineman position. In his 20 years with the PUD, 15 were as a journeyman lineman before being promoted to the Electric Superintendent position and now he serves as the Director of Operations-Electric. He also is the interim director for the water operations.
Since starting his management role, Darin has been focusing on updating internal processes and the District’s construction work plan.
He enjoys hunting and racing sports in his free time.
